Russia - Ukraine war is the first war that is truly defined by the new dynamic of cheap robots being a reality. Drones are now ubiquitous and lethal.

Israel hijacked a supply chain for pagers that then exploded in people's pants.

This is 21st century warfare. It can strike everywhere and in a small package.

USA now has a boom in defense-tech industry called "American Dynamism". Leading the charge is Andruil which is using a combination of AI and cutting edge tech to create highly precise killing machines.

Their YouTube channel showcases the stuff that is currently public. It is truly next gen and should strike terror in anyone who is on the receiving end of it.

Palmer Luckey (founder of Andruil) sheds some light on the level of autonomy already known of in this thread.

It is only a matter of time when there will be a fully autonomous system where a robot/algorithm/AI will make a decision on whether to kill a human or not based on some previous parameters provided.

It will happen probably in the next couple of years (if it hasn't happened already). Although public acknowledgement of such a system will remain a secret for a few years, I am pretty sure something will be known publicly in the next decade.

A pretty dystopian take on it is in this fictional short film called Slaughterbots made a few years ago. I do not think that reality will be as bleak as what is shown here, buuuut it does get its point across pretty strongly. It is pretty good.

Drone Terror

An ongoing example of terror of drones flying around in war (Russia / Ukraine) is below. Watch it with sound on. There is no gore or graphic but just the sound of a murderous robot pursuing its target.
